Pandora Listenership Still on the Rise in the Month of May

You can’t deny people’s infatuation with internet radio. It really puts the power in their hands. Although listeners can’t directly program the songs on Pandora, they still have the power to really influence what they hear.

With that being said, Pandora, the leading internet radio service, announced today new metrics that were reached in the month of May 2013. Listener hours for Pandora during the month of May 2013 were 1.35 billion, an increase of 22% from 1.10 billion during the same period last year. Share of total U.S. radio listening for Pandora in May 2013 was 7.29%, an increase from 5.80% at the same time last year.

Active listeners were 70.8 million at the end of May 2013, an increase of 33% from 53.3 million during the same time period last year. Pandora is releasing key audience metrics on a monthly basis to provide the most current information regarding Pandora’s users and usage across platforms.
