ORIGIN Los Angeles Opens Late Summer 2026 to Revive Downtown Arts District Nightlife

The independent launch of ORIGIN Los Angeles in late summer 2026 represents a critical business bet on restoring downtown Los Angeles nightlife, offering rights holders and promoters a new 1,000-capacity hub for Afro-house, techno, and live electronic bookings in the Arts District.

A New Home for Underground Electronic Music

ORIGIN Los Angeles is set to debut as a continuation of the industrial event space formerly known as Lot 613, located at 613 Imperial Street beneath the 6th Street Bridge. The venue is being reborn by veteran rave promoters Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, the founders behind established nightlife brands SBCLTR and Minimal Effort. Their goal is to transform the gutted shell and dirt lot into a “Blade Runner–style” warehouse featuring modular patio stages and a top-flight sound system. This project aims to lure wary Angelenos back to the city center, betting on LA’s booming electronic scene to restore street-level energy and business activity in a neighborhood that has recently struggled.

Music-First Design and Programming Strategy

The venue’s design is helmed by Marc Dizon, the architect who previously led projects for the Brooklyn Mirage, Spotlight in Hollywood, and Hakkasan in Las Vegas. Dizon’s plan preserves a moody urban warehouse vibe while integrating a custom analog KV2 Audio system developed to deliver uncompromising sound from the dance floor to the mezzanine. Programming will follow a weekly format where Fridays host live top-tier and indie electronic bookings, while Saturdays feature daytime community events transitioning into evening house and techno. Beyond standard weekly shows, ORIGIN will serve as the gathering place for quarterly Arts District parties, fostering community on and off the dance floor. The opening is scheduled for late summer or early fall 2026, with an initial open-air block block party planned to close Imperial Street for dancing.
