Black Wall Street: Discover Wilmington, NCs Hidden History

Most of us know about the prominence of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK and we also know about the destruction of Black Wall Street. The Tulsa race massacre took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents, many of them deputized and given weapons by city officials, attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma and destroyed a affluent Black community.

Did you know pretty much the same damn thing happened in Wilmington, NC as well? It gets even “better” in Wilmington due to the politics involved and the systematic approach to destroying a thriving Black town. Check out the video below.
