Marshall has introduced Heddon, a music streaming hub designed to transform the brand’s home Bluetooth speakers into a synchronized, multi-room audio ecosystem. This innovative solution aims to merge the tactile heritage of analog music with the convenience of modern connectivity, allowing users to create a unified listening experience across multiple speakers.
The Heddon hub utilizes Wi-Fi and Auracast broadcast technology, facilitating high-fidelity audio transmission between rooms without the latency typically associated with Bluetooth setups. A standout feature is its capability to integrate traditional record players, enabling listeners to broadcast vinyl’s characteristic warmth throughout their homes while digitizing the analog signal for multi-speaker use.
In addition to its core functionalities, the hub supports various premium streaming services, including Spotify Connect, TIDAL, AirPlay, and Google Cast. While optimized for Marshall’s latest hardware models, it also offers backward compatibility through RCA output, allowing older models to integrate easily into the new system. This approach not only enhances user experience but also extends the lifespan of existing equipment.
Marshall emphasizes sustainability in the Heddon hub’s design, with 53 percent of its components made from recycled materials and a commitment to eliminating harmful plastics. The company is also launching authorized repair services and supplying spare parts to promote product longevity. The Heddon is currently available, with a tiered pricing strategy aimed at encouraging ecosystem adoption through discounts on bundled purchases.
