iHeartMedia Expands Leadership in Community Markets Group

iHeartMedia is reshaping leadership across its Community Markets group, expanding responsibilities for three senior executives as the company pushes for stronger advertiser results and locally focused programming across the U.S.

Mark Glynn, Jeff Thomas Take Bigger Roles Across iHeart Markets

Mark Glynn has been promoted to Division President of Community Markets, taking oversight of 20 markets. Jeff Thomas is also expanding his scope, adding the role of Division President of Community Markets and leading 27 markets.

Both will report directly to John Karpinski, the company�s President of Community Markets.

Glynn moves into the division role after serving as Area President of Seattle/Spokane, where iHeartMedia credits him with driving growth and innovation.

In his new position, he will oversee community markets across the Nebraska, Iowa, Pacific, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Alaska regions.

Glynn said the company continues to reach nine out of ten Americans through its broadcast radio stations each month, calling community markets �the heartbeat� of local connection and saying he�s energized to help lead what comes next.

Thomas comes from iHeartMedia�s News/Talk side, where he serves as Executive Vice President of Strategic Sales Development for News Talk Stations and has been described as a major driver behind the performance of iHeart�s News and Talk brands.

With this expanded Community Markets leadership role, Thomas will oversee markets in Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Hawaii, and the Mid North regions.

He said he�s looking forward to bringing his experience to a broader set of markets while continuing iHeartMedia�s long-standing focus on serving local communities.

The company also elevated Marshal Burgess, currently President of the Portland market, to Region President of the Pacific Northwest Area. His responsibilities now expand to include Seattle, Portland, and Spokane, and he will report to Division President Nick Gnau.

Burgess noted he has been with iHeartMedia for more than 28 years, calling it his professional home for nearly three decades and saying he�s excited to build on the company�s legacy across the region.

iHeartMedia describes itself as the leading media outlet nationwide, operating across broadcast radio stations and multiple platforms including live events, data, and digital products�among them iHeartRadio, its free all-in-one digital music, podcasting, and live-streaming radio service available across more than 500 platforms and over 2,000 devices, including smart speakers, digital auto dashboards, tablets, wearables, smartphones, virtual assistants, televisions, and gaming consoles.
