Lauren Kilgore Named SVP Business & Legal Affairs

Sony Music Nashville {SMN} and Provident Entertainment {PE} announce today the appointment of Lauren Kilgore as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs. Kilgore will oversee and guide the legal activities associated with both labels and will engage and partner with a variety of business leaders both locally and with Sony Music Entertainment to shape and execute SMN and PE’s legal, business and operational strategies.  Kilgore will start with the company effective immediately and report to Sony Music Nashville Chair & CEO, Taylor Lindsey and President and COO Ken Robold.

Kilgore brings nearly fifteen years of experience as an entertainment attorney, representing Grammy Award-winning artists, producers, songwriters, television contestants, record labels, publishing companies, managers, and other creatives. She has worked with a diverse roster of clients, including Paramore, Jackson Dean, Ben Williams, Black River Entertainment, Shenandoah and Walk Off Entertainment.

Kilgore has spent the entirety of her legal career based in Nashville, and most recently, was a Shareholder in the law firm of Buchalter, P.C., where she handled a broad range of transactional entertainment matters. In addition to her transactional work, she has handled pre-dispute and litigation matters and has served as an expert witness in music industry-related cases.

A trusted industry veteran, Kilgore has been recognized on Billboard’s “Top Music Lawyers” list for five consecutive years, Music Row’s “In Charge” list from 2018–2024, and was named Best Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” in 2024. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt Law School and an active member of the Recording Academy, the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, NSAI, and the Copyright Society of the South. Kilgore frequently speaks at conferences across the United States on topics related to the music industry and intellectual property.
