Maya Angelou will be the first Black woman featured on a quarter. The coins will roll out this week featuring the Civil Rights Activist and poet who died in 2014 when she was 86. The feature honors trailblazing women for their achievements as a part of the U.S. Mint’s American Women Quarters program.
