Happy 90th Birthday to Stax Records Founder Mr. Jim Stewart

In 1957, Jim Stewart founded Satellite Records, which soon afterward became STAX. The “little Memphis label that could” went on to make the world a much more magical place through the music of Rufus and Carla Thomas, Otis Redding, William Bell, Isaac Hayes, and so many more.

Today, if the music of Stax Records has brought joy into your life, we ask you to please join the Stax Museum in celebrating Mr. Stewart’s 90th birthday on July 29, 2020. The Stax Museum wants to present Mr. Stewart with a giant birthday card filled with messages of love and celebration and we invite you to sign the card. Simply make a donation to the Stax Museum, complete with your personal message, and we’ll deliver the card to him on his birthday.
