Generator and Warner Music have announced a new three-year partnership aimed at enhancing opportunities for artists, producers, and emerging talent in the North of England. This renewed collaboration is set to strengthen the music sector’s infrastructure in Newcastle, establishing a focal point for talent development and creative innovation in the region.
Supported by Newcastle City Council and the North East Combined Authority, the partnership will facilitate the development of new studio facilities designed to enrich the local creative ecosystem. These facilities will host various activities including writing camps, production and A&R development sessions, and mentoring programs, in addition to offering professional studio access for emerging artists. The inclusion of resources for photography, videography, and podcasting aims to unite multiple creative disciplines under one roof, fostering a more integrated artistic community.
The partnership also emphasizes collaboration with educational institutions to create clearer pathways into music industry careers, thereby supporting the next generation of engineers, producers, and content creators. This initiative comes in the wake of significant national events like the MOBO Awards and the Mercury Prize relocating to the North, further highlighting the region’s burgeoning creative landscape. More information regarding Warner Music’s label activities in the area is expected to be released in spring 2026.
