On Valentine’s Day, students and alumni from the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts at Florida International University (FIU) took the stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as part of the Yandel Sinf�nico tour. This collaboration with renowned Latin music artists Yandel and J Balvin marked a significant achievement for the students, showcasing their talents in a high-profile venue.
The Yandel Sinf�nico tour is a groundbreaking project that fuses reggaeton with orchestral elements, earning a Grammy nomination for its innovative approach. Under the direction of conductor Javier Mendoza, who has a history of collaboration with Yandel, the FIU Symphony Orchestra performed alongside students, providing them with invaluable real-world experience in a genre that transcends traditional boundaries.
Students involved in the performance highlighted the unique learning opportunities presented by the project.
