Apple’s just had a staggering year in services, shaking up the digital space with record user growth.
Apple has revealed impressive growth across its service platforms as users increasingly gravitate towards its audio, TV streaming, and news offerings. The tech giant announced that 2025 marked a ‘record-breaking’ year for its services, reflecting a significant uptick in engagement and subscriptions.
Apple Music experienced its most successful year to date, with both listenership and subscriber numbers hitting unprecedented heights. The service, available on both iOS and Android platforms, benefitted from key updates in the previous year, such as Lyrics Translation and AutoMix. These features enhance user experience by providing personalized music curation and accessibility.
Simultaneously, Apple TV’s performance surged, with December statistics indicating a 36% increase in viewing time for popular series like ‘Slow Horses’ and ‘The Studio’ compared to the previous year. The platform has continuously expanded its library, recently adding new films and acclaimed series, including the highly anticipated F1 movie featuring Brad Pitt and the award-winning drama ‘Pluribus.’
The App Store also had a remarkable year, boasting over 850 million average weekly users worldwide. During the peak holiday period between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, the marketplace saw an unprecedented influx of visitors, with consumer spending on digital goods reaching new heights.
Apple Podcasts achieved a milestone with record numbers in listeners, plays, and subscriptions, highlighting the platform’s growing popularity among users seeking audio content.
In addition to these successes, Apple Fitness+ expanded its availability into more regions, catering to a broader audience. Apple Arcade enriched its game offerings, adding over 50 new titles to its collection, further enhancing its gaming ecosystem.
Apple also broadened its Share Item Location feature in Find My, now encompassing 36 airlines, allowing secure tracking of luggage to significantly reduce the chances of lost items. Moreover, Apple Maps introduced its Detailed City Experience in new areas, including New Orleans, Singapore, and Monaco, showcasing 3D landmarks and specialized experiences.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, expressed pride in the year’s achievements, stating, “2025 was a record-breaking year for Apple services, marked by remarkable growth, global expansion, and continuous innovation.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing user experiences across its platforms, which has resulted in increased customer engagement throughout the year.
Reflecting on the year, Cue noted, “The numbers reflect the incredible enthusiasm of our customers, whether it’s downloading an exciting new app or game, watching the hottest new show with family and friends, listening to their favorite songs, or shopping with peace of mind.”
