Alan Furst & David Wood: New Emmis-Indy Radio Duo

Indianapolis “¦Two radio veterans have been named to lead the programming efforts for the Emmis-Indianapolis radio cluster (WIBC-FM, WYXB-FM, WLHK-FM and WFNI-AM).

Radio veteran Alan Furst has been named Director of Talk Programming for the cluster as well as Program Director for WIBC. Furst, most recently Senior VP of Content for DMX, Inc, has an impressive background in radio programming, including stops at WLW as PD, VP of Programming for CapStar Broadcasting, Senior VP of Programming for Clear Channel, and Director of Country Programming for Cumulus.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Alan’s skills returning to Indianapolis ,” Charlie Morgan, SVP/Emmis Indianapolis Market Manager, said. “Alan’s broad experience with legendary radio stations and top talent combined with his knowledge of the Indianapolis community makes him uniquely qualified to lead the programming efforts for WIBC and 1070 The Fan.”

David Wood has been named PD of WYXB/B105.7 and WFNI/The Fan. Wood, like Furst, has an impressive track record of programming success. He has worked with Capital Broadcasting in Raleigh and Baltimore, and with Susquehanna in Indianapolis and Director of Programming for Susquehanna-Indianapolis.

“After working directly with David for over a decade, I have seen first hand his ability to successfully develop brand s and to work with air talent to help them achieve true greatness,” Morgan said.  “His extensive experience in adult radio in Indianapolis will be a true advantage for the Emmis Indianapolis cluster.”

Furst and Wood, who will report directly to Bob Richards, Director of Programming for Emmis-Indianapolis and PD of WLHK Hank FM, assumed their new duties Jan. 11.
