A24’s ‘Sing Sing’ Cast Returns to Prison for Heartfelt Screening (Video)

    The formerly incarcerated stars of A24’s upcoming SING SING returned to the historic, year-old correctional facility last night, many for the first time since their , for a special screening of the film which was followed by an emotional panel discussion with  Clarence ‘Divine Eye’ Maclin, Sean ‘Dino’ Johnson, as well as current RTA and Hudson Link participants Bill Walsh and Joel Herrera.

    Interim Executive Director of the Rehabilitation Through the Arts Program (RTA) Leslie Lichter and her team helped to organize the , which was also attended by Sing Sing’s Superintendent Marlyn Kopp and Commissioner of the State Department of Corrections and Supervision (DOCCS) Daniel F. Martuscello II.

    Directed by Greg Kwedar, SING SING is the stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.

    The film premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and won the Awards at this year’s SXSW Film Festival. SING SING will be released in select theaters on July 12, 2024 with a nationwide rollout to follow.
