Telemundo shakes up its unscripted division with Adrian Santucho at the helm.
Telemundo has officially named Adrian Santucho as its new senior vice president of unscripted content, marking a significant move for the network. In this role, Santucho will spearhead the development and production of a wide array of unscripted programming, including reality shows, game shows, and music specials, across both linear and streaming platforms. His appointment comes as Telemundo aims to strengthen its offerings to a diverse audience.
Reporting directly to Javier Pons, the chief content officer and head of Telemundo Studios at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Santucho is set to oversee all creative aspects of unscripted content. His focus will be on refining development procedures to ensure the production of engaging and relevant programming that resonates with viewers.
Pons expressed confidence in Santucho’s capabilities, stating, “Adrian brings to Telemundo deep expertise in the production of unscripted content and specials. A well-respected veteran in Spanish-language media, he has successfully managed large-scale international production companies that deliver content for broadcasters, cable channels, and streaming platforms across the region and in the U.S.”
With more than 25 years of experience in the field, Santucho has built a notable reputation as an Emmy-winning executive and producer. Before joining Telemundo, he served as CEO and chief creative officer at 360-POWOW, where he led the creative development of live specials and both scripted and unscripted productions for major networks.
His impressive resume also includes a tenure as executive vice president at Univision Studios. There, he played a key role in the production of hit reality shows such as La Banda, Mira Quién Baila, and Pequeños Gigantes USA, alongside prestigious award shows like Premio Juventud and Premio Lo Nuestro. Santucho’s career began at Endemol Argentina, followed by leadership positions at Endemol Mexico and Endemol U.S. Hispanic, eventually serving as CEO of Fremantle U.S. Hispanic, Mexico, and Latin America.
