Apple Music just got a big boost with the iOS 26.2 update—major improvements for users.
Apple has rolled out a significant update to Apple Music with the launch of iOS 26.2, enhancing the overall user experience. Among the most notable changes is the inclusion of the Favorite Songs playlist, now featured prominently in the Top Picks section on the home tab. Additionally, users can now access lyrics for their downloaded songs, even when they’re offline. This means that Apple Music subscribers can sing along without needing an internet connection, a feature that’s perfect for travel or when the network is unreliable.
The offline lyrics feature is a noteworthy addition for Apple Music users, setting it apart from competitors like Spotify. There’s no need for additional setup; as long as users are on iOS 26.2, they can enjoy this functionality. If offline lyrics aren’t displaying, users can simply re-download a previously accessed song to make it available.
Following a series of less impressive updates, Apple has significantly upgraded its music streaming service with a fresh design dubbed Liquid Glass. This new aesthetic brings a glossy and interactive flair, allowing users to swipe between songs easily from the mini player. The hover menu has also been updated, improving navigation for users.
International music fans will appreciate the new Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation features. Lyrics Translation provides real-time translations of songs in the user’s spoken language, making it easier to connect with foreign-language hits. Lyrics Pronunciation assists users in correctly vocalizing songs, ensuring that everyone can join in, regardless of the language.
Apple Music has also introduced functionality to pin favorite songs, albums, artists, or playlists at the top of the library for quick access. Users can now set a song with an animated cover to take over the entire Lock Screen, offering a personalized touch. Moreover, several Apple Music widgets have been updated, and a new AutoMix feature has been added. This improvement enhances the existing iOS 18 crossfade function, providing a more seamless transition from one track to the next, although opinions on its appeal are mixed.
