Lauryn Hill Granted Extension for $500K Back Taxes

12615764-mmmain

(pictured: Hill leaving the courtroom yesterday)It appears    a federal judge in Newark,  U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Madeline Cox Arleo,  had some mercy on troubled singer Lauryn Hill. Hill, 37, is the mother of six children and she has been given two more weeks to come up with  $504,000 by May 6.

If she comes up with the money, and she probably will, there is a good chance she will get probation. Her six children and the fact that she has signed a new deal with Sony (including a bonus) probably played a huge part in the judge’s decision. Hill was/is facing over 30 months in prison for not filing her taxes for several years when she earned over a million dollars.

What the hell was the Mother of six thinking? Any millionaire has to know the IRS has you under serious scrutiny… and you can actually afford to pay whatever you owe,or hire accountants to manage your finances…
