Barry Farber Nominated for National Radio Hall of Fame

 width=CRN Digital Talk Radio today announced that legendary radio personality Barry Farber, host of CRN’s daily “The Barry Farber Show” is up for nomination into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

Barry Farber is the dean of American talk show hosts, said Michael Horn, President and CEO of CRN Digital Talk Radio.   “He hosts the longest running talk show on radio today.   He is a founding father of talk radio, but Barry is still astounding contemporary audiences with his knowledge humor and prose.”

Celebrating 50 years on the radio this September, Farber launched his radio career in New York in 1960 and began hosting a national talk show on the ABC Radio Network in 1990.   The National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts named Farber 1991’s “Talk Show Host of the Year”.   In 2002, Farber was listed by Talkers magazine as one of the top ten talk hosts of all time!   An accomplished author and columnist, Farber is a student of 26 languages.

“I am so honored to even be considered for a position in the Radio Hall of Fame, said Barry Farber.   “Recognition is man’s most powerful non-essential craving. And, I mean, this nomination delivers a troy-ton.”

The nominees to the National Radio Hall of Fame were selected by a 24-member National Radio Hall of Fame Steering Committee.   Other 2010 nominees include Howard Stern, Ralph Emery and Gary Burbank.   The public is encouraged to cast their vote until August 1, 2010 at https://nrhof.votenet.com/nrhof/register/.       For more information on this organization, visit www.radiohof.org.
