Monkey Mayhem at Tennessee Music Store Ends in Capture

You’ve got to see this – a monkey brought a music store to its knees before making a break for it. But don’t worry, it’s back in safe hands.

On Sunday morning, the Morristown Police Department in Tennessee received an unusual call around 8 a.m. regarding a monkey causing chaos inside the Trade Center music store. Witnesses reported that the cinnamon capuchin monkey was running wild and damaging several musical instruments. Despite the efforts of animal control officers dispatched to the scene, the energetic primate managed to escape before they arrived.

The monkey’s brief stint as a music store menace ended later that night when police successfully captured it at a different location. The incident raised eyebrows, especially with the revelation that the monkey had allegedly been stolen from a farm in Alabama. According to reports, it was then sold in Morristown, leading to ongoing investigations into the theft. A licensed primate keeper from the U.S. Department of Agriculture has since stepped in to assist with the situation.

Authorities are taking the matter seriously. A spokesperson for the Morristown Police stated, “We are aware of the allegation that the animal was stolen, and we will be continuing the investigation.” This incident has sparked discussions about the legality of keeping exotic animals and the responsibilities of owners.

The story has caught the attention of local residents and social media users alike, with many sharing their amusement at the monkey’s mischievous behavior in a typically calm environment like a music store. While the monkey’s antics resulted in some property damage, thankfully, no injuries were reported.

As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how this bizarre event will impact local laws surrounding exotic pet ownership. For now, the monkey is safe and sound, and the Trade Center music store can breathe a sigh of relief.
