Music documentaries have always provided more than just backstage glimpses into the lives of artists. They capture significant cultural moments and reveal the stories behind the musicians who defined them. This year, several compelling documentaries are set to debut, offering intimate insights into the lives of iconic figures in music.

Among the highlights, HBO will premiere a documentary featuring Earth, Wind & Fire later this year, following their performance at St. Louis Music Park in Missouri. Additionally, Ann Wilson from Heart is working on a personal documentary expected to release in 2026.

Marianne Faithfull’s new film, “Broken English,” is set for a U.S. release on March 20, while Wu-Tang Clan’s documentary, “The Disciple,” will have its wider theatrical release following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Courtney Love’s documentary, “Antiheroine,” has also been selected for the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.

Charli XCX’s documentary, “The Moment,” is scheduled to reach theaters globally in late January, and Paul McCartney’s film, “Man on the Run,” will be available in select theaters and streaming worldwide starting February 25.
