Looks like Premiere Networks syndicated radio host steve harvey is under fire for mocking Asian men on his TV show. The 59-year-old comedian was making fun of several self-help books including one titled “How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men.” During the odd segment Harvey was laughing at his own jokes and asked the audience “Excuse me, do you like Asian men?” he then answered, “No thank you.”Harvey went on to suggest a new book titled “How to Date a Black Woman: A Practical Guide [for] Asian Men.” He then stated “That’s one page too!  You like Asian men?’ I don’t even like Chinese food. It don’t stay with you no time … I don’t eat what I can’t pronounce.” Harvey goes on to laugh at is own joke.Unfortunately, people on social media took offense. “Steve Harvey’s joke about Asian men being unattractive was trash,” wrote one Twitter user. A black woman on YouTube wrote “THE NERVE OF THIS OL’ WAXED HEAD ASS, THICK SHARPIE DRAWN MUSTACHE UNDER COOKED MR. POTATO HEAD ASS FOOL!!!”  One Asian social media poster stated “And people say that only White people can be racist. Nah, anyone can be racist. No matter what color your skin is.”Harvey is scheduled to host the Miss Universe pageant on January 30 in the Philippines, which is home to more than 45 million Asian men.  A rep for Harvey did not respond to a request for comment.

  1. Minority concerns are the ones that are lost when you have unlimited cross-ownership. If you can dominate the landscape why would a company be compelled to concern itself with the minority population when you can focus on the majority. Minority ownership has only decreased since the telecommunications act of 1996 and that was a rather minor adjustment to what is now being sought. We are still awaiting the FCC to address this concern and thus the can is being kicked down the road with no clear indication of how to balance landscape.
