New York, New York â€“ Peter Edge has been named President, A&R, J Records. Edge previously held the title of EVP, A&R, J Records. Peter will continue to report to Clive Davis, Chairman & CEO, BMG Label Group and will be based in the companyâ€™s New York headquarters.
Peter first joined J at the inception of the company in 2000 as Vice President, A&R. During his tenure he has teamed with multi-platinum and platinum artists including Alicia Keys, Dido, Mario and Jamie Foxx among others. Prior to joining J, he was Senior Director of A&R at Arista Records where he first signed Alicia Keys, Dido and Angie Stone. Prior to this, he was Senior Director of A&R at Warner Brothers where he was instrumental in the careers of Meshell Nâ€™Degeocello and the Jungle Brothers. He started his career at Chrysalis Records where he had his own UK-based imprint Cool Tempo. The label released pioneering hip-hop from artists Slick Rick and Erik B. & Rakim.
