In a recent announcement, the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) have recognized Mo Rocca with the prestigious 2026 LABF Insight Award. This accolade is given to individuals or organizations that have significantly contributed to the understanding of the media’s role and evolution through outstanding artistic or journalistic work.
The LABF Insight Award, established five years ago, honors exemplary storytelling that showcases craftsmanship and cultural relevance. Rocca, known for his work on CBS Sunday Morning and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, has a long-standing reputation for engaging narratives that encompass a wide range of topics, from political issues to cultural history.
Rocca’s career in broadcast journalism has been marked by his ability to connect with audiences through thoughtful storytelling. He has reported on significant events and figures, including an interview with Pope Francis, while also highlighting lesser-known historical narratives. His diverse portfolio extends beyond television, as he is also the creator of the podcast Mobituaries and has contributed to various media platforms, including NPR.
The LABF and NAB have emphasized Rocca’s impact on the industry, underscoring his commitment to delivering credible and compelling journalism. Rocca will be honored at the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas, where the award will be presented during the Annual “We Are Broadcasters” event on April 21.
