There’s a new story in the news concerning Lady Gaga’s ex boyfriend suing her for $35 million ‘cause she dropped him as a producer and business partner after their failed romance.
According to him he came up with her name ‘by accident’ when he sent her a text with the title ‘Radio gaga’ by the band Queen and the spell check on the phone switched it to LADY gaga. Uhm..ok. Dunno if you can have any claim to authorship whatsoever over that, but whatever. Additionally, he says he spent months with her radically re-shaping her image and sound and co-wrote 4 songs off her last album including the single ‘Paparazzi’.
Well, I’m sure he gets royalties for that, so what else does he want?
He said as their relationship progressed she became more and more abusive towards him, and he eventually dropped her, but wanted to continue a business relationship. However, nowhere in this lawsuit indicates there was any sort of breach of contract, so basically it just sounds like sour grapes to me. As far as I see it, lady gaga is entitled to cut loose someone involved in her machine she feels no longer beneficial or necessary and if no contract was signed this dude doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on. It’s just another frivolous law suit in a litigious age.
