Deezer has introduced a new feature called Flow Tuner, designed to enhance user control over the algorithm that curates their automated Flow playlists. This feature allows listeners to deactivate specific genres, enabling a more tailored music streaming experience. Users can also explore new genres that they may not have previously considered, facilitating greater music discovery.
The Flow feature has been a cornerstone of Deezer’s service for over a decade, generating continuous playlists based on user preferences for tracks, artists, and genres. While users have previously been able to adjust the mood and genre focus, the Flow Tuner takes personalization a step further by allowing direct manipulation of the genres included in the playlists.
With Flow Tuner, users can easily select musical genres that align with their tastes or venture into new genres to discover fresh music. This feature positions the algorithm as a customizable tool, enabling users to shape their listening experience in a more meaningful way.
Additionally, Deezer has implemented an AI detection tool to filter out AI-generated music from user playlists. For new users transitioning from other music streaming services, the Tune My Music feature offers a seamless way to import playlists, albums, artists, and songs, further enhancing user experience and engagement on the platform.
