In June 2026, the music world lost two great male voices within 17 days of each other: Peabo Bryson and Beau Williams. Both were Black Southern ballad tenors, born a year apart, signed to Capitol Records in the early ’80s. On paper they were almost the same artist — yet one became a household name with Grammys and timeless standards, while the other became a legend known mostly to the people inside the music.
