Warner Music Group Names Hannah Karp Chief Comms Officer

Warner Music Group has announced the appointment of Hannah Karp, a former editor at Billboard, as its new executive vice president and chief communications officer, effective January 26. Karp, who has a decade of experience at Billboard, where she served as editor-in-chief, will be based in New York and report directly to CEO Robert Kyncl. In her new role, she will oversee WMG�s global communications and brand marketing strategy, including corporate philanthropy initiatives and special events.

Kyncl praised Karp’s insights and storytelling skills, emphasizing her strong industry relationships. Karp joined Billboard in 2017 and has played a key role in expanding its content across various platforms. Before her tenure at Billboard, she spent over ten years at The Wall Street Journal, covering a range of topics including the music business and sports.

This announcement coincides with leadership changes at Billboard, where Leila Cobo and Jason Lipshutz have been promoted to co-chief content officers, overseeing all editorial content and major franchises.
