Justin Bieber Calls for Music Industry Reform

Bieber’s Call for Change

Justin Bieber isn’t mincing words. He wants the music industry to do better. The 31-year-old singer, who shot to fame as a teenager, shared his thoughts on Instagram, urging for a more secure and transparent environment for future generations of young artists.

Bieber’s rise to stardom wasn’t without its challenges. He faced immense pressure and public scrutiny throughout his career, grappling with personal issues that included a well-known arrest for reckless driving in 2014. Now, he reflects on those experiences, acknowledging the emotional scars they’ve left behind.

In his posts, Bieber noted how his Christian faith has played a pivotal role in his healing journey. He shared, “I grew up in a system that rewarded my gift but didn’t always protect my soul. There were moments I felt used, rushed, shaped into something I didn’t fully choose. That kind of pressure leaves wounds you don’t see on stage. I’ve carried anger; I’ve asked God why.”

Yet, he emphasizes that his current perspective isn’t one of bitterness. “I’m not speaking as a victim still bleeding – I’m speaking as someone restored. Because I’m healed, I can forgive. Not to pretend injustice didn’t happen, but so it doesn’t keep living through me,” he wrote.

Transforming the Industry

Bieber’s message is clear: he’s not after revenge. Instead, he seeks redemption for himself and for the industry. He continued, “I don’t want to destroy the industry. I want it transformed.” The pop icon concluded his heartfelt post with a powerful message: “I don’t want to burn the music industry down. I want to see it made new – safer, more honest, more human.”

Despite his recent album releases, “Swag” and “Swag II,” Bieber is contemplating the future of his touring schedule. He shared concerns about being away from his wife, Hailey Bieber, and their son, Jack. In a Halloween Twitch livestream, Bieber remarked, “Touring takes so much out of you, and I’ve done it since I was a kid.”

While he is set to headline Coachella in 2026, he’s thinking about scaling back his performances, preferring short, multi-night engagements rather than lengthy global tours. “I really wanna do spot-date where I pick a city and do a couple of shows and not commit to a whole two years,” he explained.
