Mathew Myers has been promoted to Operations Manager for Radio One Cleveland. His promotion is effective immediately, transitioning from his previous role as Operations Manager for Radio One Richmond. Myers steps into the position previously held by A Plus, who will now serve as the Operations Manager for Radio One Washington D.C.
This career progression is significant for Myers, who began his journey with Radio One in Cleveland. “This is an incredible full-circle moment,” says Eddie Harrell, Co-President/Audio Division. “Matt started his career with us in Cleveland, and I’m confident he will lead our operations here to new heights.”
Myers’ radio career dates back to 2010 when he started as an On-Air personality with WZAK. He quickly made strides in the industry, becoming Music Director for WZAK-FM and WENZ-FM in 2013.
His leadership skills continued to shine, and in 2014, he was promoted to Assistant Program Director for Radio One’s Columbus stations (WCKX, WJYD, & WXMG). Myers spent five years developing talent, improving ratings, and building his expertise in radio operations before taking on the role of Operations Manager for Radio One’s Richmond cluster in 2019.
Reflecting on his promotion, Myers shared his excitement: “This truly is a full-circle moment for me. I fell in love with radio listening to WZAK & WENZ as a child, and I started as an intern for this cluster.
I couldn’t be more honored to take on this leadership role in a market and with a team that is very near and dear to me. I want to thank Radio One President Eddie Harrell and SVP of Programming Colby Colb for trusting and believing in me.
