Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror Brings Hell to Your House
SANTA MONICA, CA – Xenon Pictures has officially announced the home entertainment release of the urban horror anthology Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror. This film features legendary rapper Snoop Dogg in the role of the “Crib Keeper,” presenting three gruesome morality tales that artfully intertwine horror elements with anime, live action, and a hefty portion of gallows humor. This anticipated DVD launch follows its theatrical release, which occurred nationally in May, and will make its debut on September 11th. The DVD will be accessible across all major retail outlets and online platforms, retailing at $26.98 (SRP), and carries an R rating.
An Urban Nightmare Unleashed
Inspired partly by the classic “Tales from the Crypt” comic series, Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror dives deep into an urban nightmare infused with the supernatural and the bizarre. The anthology includes thrilling tales such as that of a graffiti artist who gains power over life and death from a mysterious shaman and a Texas oil heir who preys on veterans without a second thought. Audiences will also witness a rap star whose dirty secrets literally come out of the closet. The film is constructed around hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg, who portrays Devin, a murdered gangster compelled to confront his past by dragging fellow wrongdoers toward their eternal punishments, accompanied by a sultry entourage of succubi.
A Star-Studded Cast
Described by Variety as “gleefully disgusting,” this wickedly comedic gore-fest shines with an impressive lineup of talent from film, television, hip-hop, and sports. The cast includes well-known figures like Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, “Desperate Housewives”), Danny Trejo (The Devil’s Rejects), and Lin Shaye (There’s Something About Mary). Additional talent features Anson Mount, Brande Roderick, Daniella Alonso, Pooch Hall, and Sydney Tamiia Poitier, as well as appearances by WWF superstar Diamond Dallas Page, comedian Aries Spears, and NBA star Tayshaun Prince.
This ensemble also includes esteemed actors like Billy Dee Williams, Jason Alexander (“Seinfeld”), and rapper Method Man (“The Wire”). To add to the thrill, sports icons such as NBA star Lamar Odom and NFL players Teyo Johnson, Justin Fargas, and Glenn Cadrez enrich the film’s atmosphere, creating a unique blend of horror and humor that has the potential to captivate diverse audiences.
