TikTok has unveiled a new beta feature called Listening Party, which facilitates real-time social engagement alongside full-track streaming through Apple Music. This integration allows independent artists, music marketers, and labels to host synchronized listening sessions, enabling fans to stream entire albums while interacting with each other and the artist in real-time.

The feature is currently available exclusively to verified artists who have linked their TikTok Artist Profile with their catalog through the Artist Hub. At this stage, the functionality is only accessible via the TikTok iOS app, meaning artists must meet these prerequisites to initiate a Listening Party.

To set up a Listening Party, verified artists need to link their Apple Music account within the TikTok app, navigate to the Listening Party option in the Artist Hub or music tab, and engage fans through real-time chat. Artists can enhance the experience by sharing insights about their music and creating collective challenges that unlock exclusive content or shoutouts for participants.

Fans must possess an active Apple Music subscription to access full-length tracks during the event; however, non-subscribers can still join the chat and listen to 30-second previews. The integration aims to bridge the discovery gap by keeping fans engaged within the TikTok ecosystem while exploring the artist’s complete works. Artists are encouraged to monitor their performance through the Apple Music for Artists dashboard to assess the impact of these sessions on their growth.
