SAD BUT INSPIRATIONAL STORY: Sydney L. Small, WWRL Owner


Radio Facts:  width=I’ve actually known about this story for a few days but I’ve been bombarded with another project and didn’t get a chance to write on it. I can only IMAGINE what is must have been like for Mr. Small to try to make his station relevant in not only New York but the industry. Racism is STILL alive and thriving in the industry and for this man to have had to struggle for 30 years is most unfortunate. K

Sydney L. “Syd” Small, who owned radio station WWRL and struggled for almost three decades to keep it viable as an alternative media voice, died unexpectedly over the weekend. He was 72 years old. Read the whole story here
