New Music Seminar LA 2011 Concludes Sold Out Conference Event – PHOTOS

 

 

NEW MUSIC SEMINAR LA 2011 CONCLUDES SOLD OUT CONFERENCE EVENT

Key artists and industry leaders engage in intensive and powerful dialogue about the future of the music industry, the new solutions, technologies and investments necessary to bring it back from the brink NMS Announces The Daylights as the winner of The Artist on the Verge Contest February 17, 2011– Los Angeles, CA .

– New Music Seminar, the future of music conference for artists, industry, entrepreneurs, technologists, labels, brands/agencies, investors and more concluded yesterday with a packed audience at the sold out New Music Seminar LA 2011 at The Sheraton Universal in Los Angeles, CA.

The two-day, three-night event featured conference five NMS Movements, 18-minute Intensives from key industry leaders, Mentoring sessions and NMS Closed-Door Industry Summits (Indie Promoter and Club Booking, Technology Summit and New Deal Legal) plus nightly live performances with AriZona Beverages on board as a Diamond Partner.

A number of companies attending NMS made key announcements during the conference including the launch of the direct to fan ticketing service, GigsWiz; a new mobile tool kit for artists to capitalize on mobile commerce at live events by mobile entertainment company Mozes and mega live music site Jambase announcing its Facebook Connect platform.

Big Champagne’s Eric Garland broke the news of their just awarded Fast Company Most Innovative honor and Ian Roger’s of Top Spin announced a major update to their platform which will now become open access to all musicians, filmmakers and authors. Sound Exchange launched a national awareness campaign for artists to “Label It” and ensure the tracking of metadata.

ZMX, the direct to fan publishing company, and Fame Wizard, a new digital artist development company, announced their company launches. Artists, CEOs, Founders and heads of the most important music technologies were also in attendance at NMS including:

NMS is ground zero for the new architects of the next music business, whether you are an artist or industry executive. New Music Seminar laid out a vision for a new music business that forges a union between artists and their managers, labels and support teams along with web technologies to help artists achieve maximum exposure and maximum revenues, in service of their fans.

Live performances at New Music Seminar took place each night showcasing a cross section of establid and new artists on the verge of breaking. The NMS Opening Night Party on Monday night at The Music Box, sponsored by AriZona Beverages, kicked off with performances byrock/ blues/soul

The Little Death; UK Sensation
King Charles; hip-hop artist and DJ
Blaqstarr; MTV America’s Best Dance Crew DJ,
DJ MIA; Dance/electronica sensation
Jessie and The Toy Boys; Los Angeles-based buzz band Of Verona and New Orleans singer-songwriter Ben Hunter and Indie 103.1’s Native Wayne Jobson and Tedd Roman.

Tuesday night featured The Artist on the Verge (AOV) Party where the Top 3 available finalists- Shinobi Ninja, Mike Del Rio and The Daylights– performed for the chance to win over $50,000 in prizes. ReverbNation contest winner Nylon Pink performed as well. The three NMS Artist on the Verge Project finalists were chosen from more than 800 acts that were evaluated and voted on by the NMS Music Committee.

Votes are tallied via text messaging sponsored by Mozes. The grand prize winner, The Daylights, received over $50,000 in instruments and marketing and promotions tools.

NMS LA 2011 ended, on Wednesday, with the Closing Night Party, which featured performances by The Smiles, Sean Butler, The Well Reds and Bop Skizzum.
