Sheridan Broadcasting Corp.’s American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) announced today that Andy Anderson has been promoted to vice president sales- Eastern region from his previous post as executive sales director.
Anderson, an executive marketing and sales veteran with more than 20 years experience, joined AURN in 2003 as senior director of partnership marketing, developing marketing campaigns for the network’s clients. In 2005, he was promoted to executive sales director.
Howard Eisen, executive vice president, sales, AURN, said, “Andy Anderson has been a star performer for AURN and in this new position will have an even greater opportunity to utilize his skills to help grow our business.â€
Before joining AURN, Anderson started two sales and marketing companies: ProMar, an event marketing and sales organization, and Peck & Anderson, a promotion company for the music industry. In addition to these entrepreneurial endeavors, he has held executive positions for companies including Black Radio Exclusive Magazine (BRE), Rap Sheet Magazine and Billboard Magazine. At Billboard, he became the first African-American advertising director, in charge of urban and Canadian advertising. During his stint with Billboard, Anderson was one of the creators and key architects of the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Conference and Awards Program.
