MBDA’s Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year 2015

The Los Angeles Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) named Andre Farr its Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year for 2015. Farr, the inaugural recipient, was celebrated for his leadership that promoted global business expansion and job creation. His award was presented at a Black Tie Awards Dinner at the University of California, Los Angeles campus.

A Career Dedicated to Opportunity Creation

Farr’s illustrious 28-year career is marked by his dedication to creating opportunities for minorities in business. His efforts have significantly contributed to economic growth in the United States and globally, working with notable professionals such as MC Hammer, Beyoncé, and Floyd Mayweather among others.

A Legacy of Social Entrepreneurship

Farr’s innovative entrepreneurial leadership and passion for creating social enterprises have always been recognized. The MBDA likened him to dignitaries such as Mayor Tom Bradley, Jackie Robinson, and Dr. Tom Bunche, all of whom were UCLA student athletes who later led impressive careers of international entrepreneurial leadership.

Current Endeavors and Future Prospects

Currently, Farr serves as CEO of his consultancy, Andre Farr International, LLC, developing branded sports and entertainment concepts and groundbreaking business ventures. He also heads two emergent non-profit organizations, City Youth Exposure and the Black Sports Academy.

The Host Committee for the inaugural event included Berky Nelson, PhD; C.Z. Wilson, PhD; and Alfred E. Osborne Jr., PhD.
