Hard to believe it’s been 29 years since the late Whitney Houston‘s iconic “I Will Always Love You” hit the charts in 1992. In a recent interview, country singer Dolly Parton, the original singer, and writer of the legendary hit revealed that received $10 Million in royalties from the song and continues to get royalties to this day.
When asked what did with the money states put it back into the black community by building a strip mall with her office space in a predominately black neighborhood in Nashville, TN.
The country singer said loved Whitney’s rendition of the song and said reinvesting the money into the Black community in Nashville was the “best” thing thought could have done for Whitney in return. Check the 2:25 mark
