Midday Diva Axed

After more than 20 years in the radio business, Leesa Mitchell has left the airwaves. Mitchell, who most recently was known as Magic 101.3’s Midday Diva, was axed by Main Line Broadcasting late last week in yet another round of budget-cutting layoffs. “I know the economy is circling the bowl, but the genericizing of our airwaves just stinks,” said Mitchell, whose dream is to “host a talk show with local women conversing about what’s really on our minds.” Mitchell says losing her job “has been emotionally difficult. Sure, I’ll miss the income, but most of all I’ll miss my fabulous co-workers and listeners, who have my heart.

I wish I could have celebrated this historic week with them.” You can send Mitchell well-wishes at www.middaydiva.com.
