CBS has added Queen Latifah, The Roots, and Jill Scott to the performance lineup for its July 4 special, “The Great American Block Party 250.”
The three-hour primetime broadcast airs from 8:00–11:00 PM ET and will be hosted by CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil and Entertainment Tonight co-host Nischelle Turner. The special will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7.

The broadcast centers on America’s 250th anniversary, with segments originating from Washington, D.C., and performances pulled from events across the country.
Newly announced performances include Queen Latifah from the America250 benefit concert in Los Angeles, and The Roots and Jill Scott from the One Philly Unity Concert for America in Philadelphia. The full Philadelphia concert will stream separately on Paramount+ via the ET Live Channel, with additional performances from Seal, Infinity Song, and Jordan Davis.
The special will also feature pre-produced segments highlighting smaller performances in local markets, including Zac Brown Band in Atlanta, Jon Batiste in New Jersey, Goo Goo Dolls in California, and The War and Treaty in Nashville.
Additional segments include appearances from chef Rock Harper, who will be featured in cooking segments tied to the broadcast.
CBS News correspondents will contribute reports from multiple locations, including Washington, D.C. and New York.
The special will also stream live on CBSNews.com and YouTube.
