FBI Radio’s Dance Class Mentorship for FLINTA DJs

fbi radio is excited to announce the return of its esteemed FLINTA DJ mentoring program, Dance Class, set to launch in 2026. This program aims to nurture the next generation of dance music talent by providing essential training and mentorship for women, non-binary, and trans creatives.

Since its inception in 2003, fbi radio has championed emerging Sydney music and culture. Dance Class is designed to break down barriers in the electronic music industry, connecting selected trainees with some of the most respected mentors in the Eora/Sydney scene.

Over the course of the program, six trainees will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of dance music, including DJing on CDJs and vinyl, radio presenting, organizing club nights, and navigating the music business. Each trainee will be paired with an fbi radio mentor, offering them a behind-the-scenes look at how radio shows are produced.

Now in its fifth year, Dance Class has already made a significant impact, with alumni such as Ebony Boadu, Lauren Hansom, Crescendoll, and AK Sports achieving notable success in the dance music community both locally and internationally.

This year’s mentors include fbi radio presenters and alumni like Andy Garvey, d-grade, Au4r33y, and Tangela, bringing valuable real-world experience to the trainees.

Applications are currently open for women, non-binary, and trans individuals who have a passion for dance music—regardless of prior DJ experience. Selection will be based on enthusiasm, passion, and musical taste.

Interested applicants should submit their applications before 11:59 PM on Monday, February 2, through the provided form. fbi radio Dance Class is proudly supported by Absolut and Create NSW.

Stay connected with fbi radio for updates on station news, creative opportunities, and more. Streaming online and on 94.5 FM since 2003, fbi.radio acknowledges the Gadigal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate.
