CBS Radio stations, TV to mix and match on-air talent

KYW-AM (1060), WIP-AM (610), WPHT-AM (1210), WYSP-FM (94.1) and WOGL-FM (98.1) feature on-air personalities like Danny Bonaduce, Angelo Cataldi, Howard Eskin and Michael Smerconish, among others. Increasingly, prominent radio personalities could appear on CBS 3, the local television affiliate “ just as CBS 3 personalities could be heard more on the radio. CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corp., also owns the CW Philly 57.

To meld the two media in the minds of listeners and viewers, CBS is adopting the brand CBS Local Media, said Marc M. Rayfield, senior vice president and market manager overseeing the five Philadelphia radio stations. Rayfield is working to create more cross-over opportunities, with his television counterpart Jon Hitchcock, who was hired a year ago to oversee CBS 3 and CW Philly 57.

“Nobody in Philadelphia has this kind of platform that takes the combined energy of radio and TV,” said Rayfield, who oversees 360 employees at the five stations.
