Da Brat discussed the Aries Spears and Tiffany Haddish child sexual abuse allegations. She said that she hoped the allegations were false when she talked about it on Friday. Da Brat said that she initially thought it was somebody who was trying to dig up dirt on Spears because they did not like him. Unfortunately, she realized the allegations were not made-up and said she saw the tape.
The morning show said the tape was terrible and not funny at all. Rickey Smiley said he did not understand, as a comedian, why would the actor or actress would perform in the skit. He said if somebody put that together, they should have said they would not do it.
“I do not condone any type of child endangerment, child pornography. This was disgusting, “said Da Brat.
Smiley said how does a person find humor in adults that have been molested and raped. Da Brat said all money is not good money.
More said the show discussed the allegations in the early morning hours before the video went viral. The radio host said she agreed with Da Brat and hoped the allegations were false. She said she does not condone child endangerment and exploitation in any way.
Haddish has broken her silence on the allegations. According to People, a 22-year-old woman and her minor younger brother are suing Haddish and Spears, claiming they are traumatized for life.
“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there is little I can say right now. But clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it was not funny at all, and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can,” said Haddish.
Spears allegedly settled with the defendants’ mother in 2019; however, the children did not get any of the money, said More. Also, the 22-year-old has custody of the 15-year-old brother. More said she did not think Spears would be able to salvage his career after the scandal. Da Brat said it is “karma” for Aries to experience such harsh backlash after his controversial comments about Lizzo.
