A texas dad was arrested Tuesday after he had stored his son’s dead body in the kitchen since 2018. Authorities said police found human remains in his kitchen — which he said were those of his son, who died four years ago.
Police said in a press release, the horrifying finding was made when police were encouraged by a concerned citizen to conduct a welfare check at the New Boston home of David McMichael, 67.
When the officers arrived, they questioned the man about the reason for their visit.
“Mr. McMichael advised them it was because he had a body in his kitchen,” police said. The father identified the remains as his son, who died in May 2018.
An autopsy will be conducted for confirmation, however, the police said the remains were “possibly” those of Jason McMichael.
Officials said the father was jailed and charged with the abuse of a corpse, and the body was sent to Dallas for further investigation.
