Sony Music Songwriters Win Top Grammy Awards (Pics)

The 65^th Annual GRAMMY Awards were held in Los Angeles, CA on February 5 and Sony Music Publishing songwriters and composers scored history-making achievements across numerous categories and genres. 

Beyoncé made history, breaking the record for the most GRAMMY wins of all time with 32 total awards, four of which took home in recognition of her latest hit album Renaissance. Co-written by Jay-Z, Dixson, Dave Hamelin, Ink, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Jozzy, Sabrina Claudio, Sevn Thomas, Boi-1da, Lil Ju, Ray Romulus, BloodPop, Tems, 070 Shake, Jesse “Corporal” Wilson, Tate Kobang, GuiltyBeatz and Jordan Douglas, the album achieved GRAMMYs for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Best Dance/Electronic Recording (“Break My Soul”), Best R&B Song (“Cuff It”) and Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Plastic Off The Sofa”).

SMP songwriters and composers had an impressive showing in the Big Four categories including Ricky Reed, who won Record of the Year as the producer of Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” co-written by Theron Thomas; as well as Sammy Witte, who was honored for Album of the Year as co-producer of Harry Style’s Harrys House.

Across the ballot, top award winners include Jack Antonoff forProducer of the Year, Non-Classical, marking his second consecutive win; Tems for Best Melodic Rap Performance with “Wait For U” by Future ft. Drake; Beach Noise for Best Rap Song with “The Heart Part 5” by Kendrick Lamar; Sam Dew, Beach Noise, Sounwave, Dahi, Amanda Reifer, Pharrell Williams, Boi-1da and Sampha for Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers; Marc Anthony for Best Tropical Latin Album with Pa’lla Voy; Willie Nelson for Best Country Album with A Beautiful Time; and many more.

After the 65^th Annual GRAMMY telecast, Sony Music Group held a private celebration for the company’s songwriters and artists.
