The players’ and legends’ day consisted of panel discussions featuring the industry’s leading executives, interactive listening sessions in the company’s new state-of-the-art recording studios and more for some of the league’s top players who have expressed interest in the business of music.
Interscope is the first and only music company to partner with the NFL to present its players with a comprehensive introduction to the business of music.
The event was part of the NFL’s recently launched NFL Career Tours program that provides current NFL players and Legends exclusive access to major organizations to learn about various career opportunities and network with industry leaders.
Nearly 20 NFL players and legends attended the day’s event, hearing from the Interscope Geffen A&M’s top executives, including Chairman and CEO, John Janick, Vice Chairman Steve Berman and the label’s SVP of Sports and Gaming David Nieman.
Many of the NFL’s top executives were in attendance as well, including the organization’s SVP of Marketing and Communications, Tracy Perlman.
A number of recording artists also attended and played music for the attendants, including Lil Mosey, Zack Bia, midwxst, Westside Boogie, EST Gee and Bas.
During the daylong seminar, IGA executives presented on topics ranging from streaming strategies and branding, to creative visual and dealmaking. The interactive sessions also covered A&R, marketing, joint venture deals and more.
“Interscope has had a close relationship with the NFL for many years now,” said Steve Berman. “So when Tracy called us to gauge our interest in hosting players for a first-ever, daylong interactive experience in the business of music, we said yes immediately.
It was a hugely impactful day for everyone at Interscope and we made important friendships with some incredible players that we hope will last long into the future.”
“Hosting a group of elite athletes from the NFL who are interested in the business of music in our offices, was thrilling for all the IGA executives involved,” said David Nieman, SVP of Sports and Gaming at Interscope Geffen A&M.
“There were a number of great exchanges between players and our artists who learned from each other throughout the day. We’re so grateful to the NFL for choosing IGA as their first-ever music partner for NFL Career Tours.”
Tracy Perlman commented: “We started NFL Career Tours to use our platform to create opportunities for our players and legends to interact with some of the most successful business leaders in the world.
Our players had a great time hearing from IGA leadership and artists and even were able to interact in the company’s new state-of-the-art studios. It was a really inspiring day.”
