New information about the killing of 18-year-old Lakaria Moore in Lubbock, Texas has been revealed in a search warrant obtained by EverythingLubbock.com. The warrant includes witness testimonies regarding the sound of gunshots and ds light on the events surrounding Moore’s death. Christopher Carter, Moore’s boyfriend, was previously named as a suspect, and an arrest warrant for first-degree murder was issued for him by the Lubbock Police Department (LPD).
Moore was reported missing on May 21, and according to court records, was last seen leaving a party in the early morning hours with Carter. The search warrant states that on May 22, a neighbor in the 2400 block of East 5th Street informed LPD officers that they had heard gunshots coming from Carter’s residence the previous night.
Moore’s mother, Ladesia Dial, was informed that Carter had shot her daughter, as stated in court documents. Dial went to Carter’s house to check on Moore and found the front door open. Upon entering, discovered that the house had been cleaned out and had a strong smell of cleaning supplies, according to the search warrant.
Authorities executing the search warrant found various items in Carter’s home, including ammunition, ll casings, bleach, and Pine Sol. Additionally, court documents revealed the discovery of a bloody blanket and towels in a dumpster located behind Carter’s house.
The search warrant stated that Moore’s body was found in the trunk of Carter’s car, which was located behind an old business in the 1200 block of FM 1729. The vehicle still had traces of blood, according to court records.
Dial had previously spoken to EverythingLubbock.com, recounting her conversation with Carter over the phone after realizing her daughter was missing. She asked if Moore was with him, to which he responded negatively. Dial noted that Carter’s voice sounded somewhat different from usual and that he seemed saddened.
