RILEY: The Mixtape is an exciting new project from Brian Jordan Jr., a dynamic love letter to the HBCU experience. The mixtape dives deep into the heart of Black culture, capturing the joy, swagger, and lived truth of the HBCU community.

With 18 original tracks, it provides fans with an intimate look into the world of RILEY before it even hits the stage.

This mixtape was written, recorded, and executive produced by Brian Jordan Jr., with contributions from a diverse array of talented artists.

Featured on the project are Big Freedia, Amber Iman, Natalie Weiss, Blaq N Mild, Loren Lott, Olivia Lux, Tina Fears, Jessica Betts, Bella Coppola, Victor Jackson, Rajané Katurah, Muhammad Ayers, Dri Jack, The Mike Foster Project, Psiryn, and Tarriona “Tank” Ball from Tank and The Bangas. Each track brings the vibrant world of RILEY to life, offering a taste of the music and themes to come.

RILEY: The Musical is currently in development, expanding the mixtape into a full theatrical experience. The musical will explore the complexities of Greek life, band culture, student politics, and first love, all through the lens of a young Black man navigating these iconic college experiences.

It’s a production that honors the beauty and depth of Black identity, set in the context of a historically Black college or university (HBCU).

Brian Jordan Jr. brings his own rich Southern storytelling and cultural pride to the project. With a career that includes starring in the hit series Sistas on BET, Jordan Jr. has roots in theater, film, and television.

His past credits include roles in Bolden, Get On Up, and A Question of Faith. He also recently directed and choreographed The Wiz for Atlanta’s True Colors Theatre Company. RILEY represents the culmination of his dedication to uplifting Black voices and sharing stories that center Black joy, love, and complexity.
