Rainbow Push issued a statement saying that the The Reverend Jesse Jackson, 79, and his wife Jacqueline, 77, have been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID. Jackson was fully vaccinated this past Jan and encouraged other African Americans to get the vaccine. He also has Parkinsons’ Disease but has remained active. Doctors are monitoring both his wife and his condition.
“Vaccination is imperative to save lives, particularly for African Americans, disproportionately the greatest victims of the virus,” he said at the time.
