Amy Robach is on the verge of securing a million-dollar contract for a new television role, set to have her on-air presence limited to just one day per week, according to exclusive sources.

However, NewsNation, the potential employer, has abandoned plans to have her co-host T.J. Holmes join her on-screen. This revelation comes in an exclusive report from DailyMail.com.

    Surprise! T.J. Holmes

This decision has sparked dissatisfaction among potential colleagues who express concern that hiring Robach could tarnish the network’s reputation. They fear it might seem like NewsNation is becoming a destination for anchors with controversies, drawing parallels to cases like Chris Stirewalt and Chris Cuomo.

While acknowledging Robach’s talent, a source states that many feel carries too much baggage due to her previous firing from another network.

The 50-year-old journalist is anticipated to kick off her new role, tentatively titled “Robach & Co.”, in January. This move marks a year since and Holmes were fired from ABC for failing to disclose their affair.

NewsNation initially explored the idea of hiring both Robach and Holmes shortly after their departure. However, this plan was eventually abandoned, and preparations for the new show continued with Robach alone.

Set to be a primetime feature, the new show is described within the network as a “weekly talk/sit-down with different news makers and human interest stories around the world.”

NewsNation, establid in March 2021 without a political affiliation, has expanded its programming to include opinion shows in primetime, featuring personalities like Chris Stirewalt and Chris Cuomo.

The addition of Robach could contribute to NewsNation’s goal of competing with industry giants like Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN, as it continues to expand its reach and influence.

Owned by Nexstar, NewsNation emphasizes engaging and unbiased news that encompasses a wide range of perspectives across the nation. The network has already claimed to be the fastest-growing cable news channel in the country, although its viewership figures currently trail behind the major players in the field.
