Rapper Lil’ Wayne Ejected From NBA Game

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., better known as Lil’ Wayne, was escorted by security out of the American Airlines Arena yesterday during Miami Heat’s win over the L.A. Lakers. A spectator who was seated near the rapper also sometimes referred to as Weezy took to Twitter @kixsquare to describe the brewing fracas: “Random guy yelled at Lil Wayne at #MiamiHEAT game, Weezy looked back, gave him a mean stare & gestured he had a gun.” The sports fan named Danny Vega, who also runs an online sneaker boutique, continued: “Weezy just got into argument with security at the #MiamiHEAT game.

He got kicked out for gun gesture.”

Carter is no stranger to violence, having served served eight months in jail on weapons possession charges. He presently faces a lawsuit from a fan who alleges that one of Carter’s employees hit him on the head with a skateboard. Earlier this month, Carter was involved in a near confrontation with a Super Bowl cameraman at the DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl.

Carter is the recipient of 4 Grammys and 10 BET Awards, having earned 80 of his 151 award nominations from various organizations to date. A representative for The Heat denied that the rapper was kicked out of the game, telling USA Today, instead, that he chose to leave. Carter, on the other hand, states he was in fact kicked out.

Carter has a surplus of 10 million followers on Twitter @LilTunechi and explained that he was kicked out simply for rooting for The Lakers: “Would u believe they got police 2 make me leave?! Wow.”

Carter has had problems with the NBA in the past, having not been allowed entry into Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena for lack of a ticket for admission.
