Radio Facts: On Tuesday October 19, 2010 Radio One will bring Kirk Franklin to Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2800 West Cheltenham Avenue in Mt Airy to celebrate a month long initiative of community service for the company's 30th Anniversary. The concert will be absolutely free as long as patrons donate one toiletry to support the Chosen 300, an organization that services the homeless community in the Philadelphia area. Items of need include toothbrushes, tooth paste, lotion, soap, and feminine hygiene products. The goal is to collect over 5,000 hygiene items to benefit the homeless.Community Service is important to the founder of Radio One, Cathy Hughes , to celebrate 30 years of existence by honoring the people who allow our stations to thrive, exactly the sentiments of General Manager Andrew Rosen . “On the 30th Anniversary of Radio One, rather than celebrate our organization, we celebrate our community along with and look for ways to put our powerful assets on air, on line and in the street to serve the great people of Philadelphia , New Jersey and Delaware.”Doors open at 6:00 pm, the performance will start at 7pm. Radio One Philadelphia Operations Manager Elroy Smith states,” I commend Kirk Franklin for believing that his contribution to the Homeless of Philadelphia will be remembered by thousand s in years to come. This mega entertainer could have turned his cheek the other way, but he did not and we in Philadelphia need to have the same attitude in giving to the homeless this Tuesday at Enon.”For more details go to www.thebeatofphilly.com, www.rnbphilly.com, and www.praisephilly.com.Thank you to our Proud Partner, Enon Tabernacle Church , Reverend Dr. Alyn E.
