Sony Music Publishing UK today announced the promotion of Naomi Ar to Vice President, Songwriter Services and Neighbouring Rights.

In her elevated role, Ar will serve as the go-to contact for SMP UK’s catalogue songwriters and clients and will be responsible for expanding opportunities and driving success for their songs both locally and internationally. She will also continue to oversee the company’s Neighbouring Rights division. Ar will remain based in the company’s London office, reporting to SMP UK Co-Managing Directors David Ventura and Tim Major.

Since joining SMP in 2020, Naomi Ar has been instrumental in advancing the company’s Neighbouring Rights initiatives and supporting talent across its roster. Prior to her time at the company, was Director and President of Wixen Music UK Ltd., where focused on Neighbouring Rights. As the co-founder of the Independent Alliance for Artist Rights (IAFAR), Ar is a leading advocate for standardization and increased transparency across Neighbouring Rights.
